Collecting abundant leeches to find rare vertebrates 0

Cyclone Giovanna hit the east coast of Madagascar in mid February, 2012, dissecting the island before travelling back around the south coast and back to the Indian Ocean. More than 20 people are feared dead, including 8 in Andasibe.

Prolemur simus 5

In 2004, thanks to the intrepid Jean Rafalimandimby, Mitsinjo excitingly discovered a new population of the Greater Bamboo Lemur in Torotorofotsy, reconfirming that this critically endangered bamboo specialist species still holds on in areas where it had gone unnoticed for so long.
